Japanese Prisoner of War interrogation in Alaska

A Japanese prisoner, one of five captured after a naval engagement in Aleutian waters, was taken to Dutch Harbor, Alaska for questioning. There he found his home-inspired fear of American treatment of prisoners quickly dispelled by Lieutenant Commander Peter C. Holm of the U.S. Navy during the interrogation.

Rene, Sorry I don't have anything to do with patches. Did you look on the NCISA.org website? Lou Beyer

    Rene Vasquez

Are NIS patches available to purchase. I'm a retires NIS/NCIS Special Agent (Nov1984 to Jan2005) and an active member of NCISA and in good standings. Thank you, Rene Vasquez

    Howard Lavy

Are patches available for purchase? I am the president of the Celtic Pipes and Drums of Hawaii and want to present some form of memorabilia to retired Agent Lawrence A. Coleman. He served in VN NISRA DaNang in Nov 1968. He is reaching his 90th Birthday in September and the band wants to give him a special recognition. He is the founder of our band and awas the Pipe Major for many years. I would appreciate any special items you may have for purchase or for retired NIS/NCIS Agents. Thank, LTC Howard Lavy, US Army (Ret)

Great to see NCIS history preserved. I was part of that class and enjoyed every minute of it and our year of duty in Naples, Italy. Awesome group of people and it was an honor to serve with them. Mark “Bubba” Smith.

I found this site very interesting and quite informative. I am a military retiree and I do research for veterans. Would it be possible for anyone to know if SA Skiff is still around and how to contact him? There is an incident I am researching and his name was mentioned. Respectfully, CTRCS James Dawson USN (ret)

    Robert B. Glasgow III

I am Robert B. Glasgow, MSGT, USMC (Ret). I served as a CI man from January 1966 to January 1982. I am trying to locate the 1st CIT's activity reports for 1968 when the team was in Vietnam with the 1stMardiv, Hue/PhuBai. I do not know is any of the team's administrative files were kept for historical purposes, if they were I would like to know there storage location. Both the team activity reports and the team's administrative files would all be For Official Use Only. The Team Commander at this time was Lt. Russell Schroyer who has since passed away.

    PAUL OLENSKI

Sir, I served with the 1st Force Reconnaissance Company (rein) at Phu Bai/Hue City. This was in 1968. I was wounded on a long range recon patrol into the Bach Ma mountains, on July 26, 1968. Then medi'vacd back to the States. I'd like to 'chat' with you as to your search for these documents. You can call me at 520-252-2904. Semper Fi, Paul F. Olenski.

When were the first women S/As hired. I seem to recall the firs women agents some time in the late 70s before bing transferred to 81YK

    Lou Beyer

NIS hired the first female civilian agents circa 1977-1978. The first five were Debbie Bachman, Diana Collins, Marya Gripp, Renea King, and Tricia Hance (nee Mansell). Debbie and Diaa retired after a full career, Renea and Tricia both stayed with NCIS for 10+ years, and Marya left before her first tour was over.
