The storyline features three chickens in an English garden - Miss Henrietta the boss hen, her obedient sidekick, Chickpea, and Poultry, the engaging Rhode Island Red Bantam. The book provides a fun way to meet hens and learn smart facts about chickens and eggs.
Although this book can be read to children of any age, it is also being read and enjoyed by adults. The reading skill level for a child to read the book is 7-11 years of age.

The author has donated proceeds from this book to charities in the US and UK, including but not limited to Shriners Hospitals for Children, United Way of Coastal Carolina, The Stardust Startup Factory to support micro grants for sustainability, The Read Across America Book Drive, and The Kent Ambulance Fund, Kent England. Most recently, a three-hour book signing held at a garden center raised $970 for the New Bern Garden Club to landscape a historic house.
